Cécile and Dave's Wedding

The Wedding of Cécile and Dave Crowest

Cécile and Dave got married on a beautiful Autumn day on 30th October 2014. They had a wonderfully classic wedding that had a hint of country garden excuted in the meticulous details of the day. The ceremony was held at All Saints Church, Carshalton, Surrey with the reception was hosted at the elegant Oaks Farm, Shirely, Surrey.

The Love Story (As told by Cécile)

Dave went to Wimbledon College (an all boys school) and I went to Ursuline High School (an all girls school). The two schools were only a couple of streets away from each other and the girls and boys mix in the sixthform. Dave used to drive past me on the way to school everyday and apparently said to his mum 'I'm going to marry that girl one day'. Then, one day at the bus stop, when we were 16, I was getting some bother from a couple of boys and Dave, who I had never spoken to before, marched up to me and told me not to worry about the boys and offered to walk me into Wimbledon rather than wait for the bus. We struck up a friendship from there and eventually dated. Although Dave took forever to make the first move and left it up to me! After a couple of weeks however, we decided a friendship was best and remained best friends throughout other relationships and our University years. Some time after I had finished University and ended my relationship with my ex, Dave made his intentions known and we began to date again. Our parents were thrilled! They had always wanted to see us together again! On 5th November 2011, on a trip to Brighton, we made our relationship official. One year later, in the same spot, and expecting our first child, Dave proposed. On 5th November 2013, we returned to that same spot with our first child. But this year, we broke tradition and spent the 5th November in Barbados on our honeymoon :)

Cécile and her bridesmaids had their hair done at Union Hairdressing, 52 Demense Road, Wallington, Surrey SM6 8PP. Cécile even had time for a brew!

The make up artist on the day was Rebecca Wilson.

Cécile looked nothing short of stunning in a beautiful wedding dress from Aurora bride.

Cécile knew she had found her dress when:

"As the indecisive person I am I pranced around in 'the dress', cried a bit, pranced around in a similar but bigger dress, tried on 'the dress' again, cried a bit more and said I think this is the one."

In keeping with the 'secret garden theme the colour scheme was sage green, white and black.

Cécile explains the significance of the wedding car:

"My grandfather passed away in March 2014. It was unexpected and we never imagined him not being there on the day. He would have loved to see us married. When my grandfather retired from the police force, he worked as a taxi driver and so we had an old style taxi, much like the one he would have driven, as our ceremony car. "

Cécile walked down the aisle to 'Walking Through The Garden' by Zbigniew Preisner, from the film 'The Secret Garden'.

Cécile favourite memory of the day is "walking up the aisle on my father's arm and down the aisle on my husband's."

In keeping with the traditional theme, confetti was thrown as the couple left the church.

Dave and the groomsmen looked dashing in their traditional morning suits from Richard

The couple's son Orson played an important part of the day, walking down the isle with his aunt Chloe and providing smiles (most of the time!).

The bouquets and flowers from the House of Flowers were gorgeous and fitted the theme perfectly with amaranthus incorporated.

A touch of fun was added with super hero socks, here Cécile shows off her wonderful shoes by Jenny Packham accompanied by her 2 super heroes, Dad and Hubby.

The couple paid important attention to detail that tied the theme together well including a vintage post box.

Cécile suprised Dave (and everyone else) by serenading Dave prior to Dinner. A stunning performance that reduced more than just Dave to tears. Dave is clear that this was his favourite memory of the day, as 'Your Song' by Elton John has a special place in the couple's hearts.

The cake was an absolute master piece, a real trimuph, further enhancing the 'Secret garden' theme of day and ate as good as it looked. Cake by the Yummy cake company.

The bride and groom made quite an entrance to the dinner with Brian Mole orchastrating the funfilled proceedings and getting the party going.

The food by Tierneys was out of this world.

The speeches went down a storm, especially as Ian the best man put Dave on trial and interrogated him.

A fun game of Mr & Mrs and the first dance were real hightlights of the evening.

The following day the couple jetted off on honeymoon to The Waves Resort, Prospect Bay, St James, Barbados for a week in paradise.
